When Javier Zaccagnini and Mariano García founded Bodegas Aalto in 1999 their aim was to obtain the highest possible quality from the terroir of Ribera del Duero and develop a great wine that in a 20-year period would be comparable in quality to the great wines of the world. It has taken a little less to attain this goal.
